New indoor market near the Best Western Hôtel Lakmi Nice

The Gare du Sud has had a makeover! The Monument Historique reopened in May 2019 as a large indoor market

The Gare du Sud covers almost 2500m2 (1500m2 ground floor and 1000m2 mezzanine) with thirty-odd restaurants and shops serving regional produce and vintage wares in an industrial setting that blends marble, zinc, leafy corners and scrap iron to perfection. Settle into one of the 700 seats inside the building or on one of the many terraces surrounding the station. 

Open daily 11am-11pm (closed Monday) and until midnight at the weekend, you're just a few minutes' walk from the Gare du Sud when you stay at the Best Western Hôtel Lakmi Nice.

How to get there from the hotel?
On foot (13 mins) – Go up Avenue Jean-Médecin and Avenue Malaussena, the Gare du Sud is on the left just before Place du Général de Gaulle.
By tram (9 mins) - Take tram line 1 from the Jean Médecin stop towards Henri Sappia and get off at Libération, the Gare du Sud is on the left just before Place du Général de Gaulle.
