Promenade des Anglais
The Promenade des Anglais is one of the most famous spots in Nice and the one attracting the most tourists and locals. It runs alongside the Mediterranean Sea for over 7 kilometres from the Quai des Etats-Unis to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.
Start your walk at the edge of Vieux-Nice, from Quai des Etats-Unis. As you walk along, you will see the famous blue chairs symbolising the dolce vita in Nice, the famous luxury hotel Le Negresco and the city's flamboyant casinos. Take a break on one of the many beaches along the Promenade des Anglais and listen to the soothing sound of the waves rolling over the pebbles.
If you are here for a romantic weekend, then sunset is the ideal time to take this walk. You can admire the warm colours of the sky reflected in the Mediterranean Sea. A romantic experience guaranteed!

The Port of Nice – The Reserve – Coco Beach
Start your walk beside the sea from Quai Rauba Capeu, where you can see the famous hashtag #ILOVENICE. After the not-to-be-missed photo, head for Port of Nice. Don't miss France's biggest war memorial, alongside the Colline du Château and facing the Mediterranean. On the way you will see the sculpture "Sunday in Nice", created by the sculptor Stéphane Cipre, depicting a steel car ready to set off on holiday.
When you arrive at Port Lympia, feast your eyes on the luxury yachts that share the spotlight with the famous Nice "pointus", small, colourful fishing boats. The Lou Che statue by Noël Dolla shows 3 boats sailing on the Mediterranean Sea. From a height of 14 metres, the statue towers above holidaymakers as they come and go. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, take a delicious break in one of the many restaurants on the quayside. This is your chance to taste some Nice specialities! To start your walk directly from Port Lympia take line 2 of the tram, which is right next to the Hotel Locarno Nice.
Continue your walk along the waterside as far as the restaurant Le Plongeoir, one of Nice's famous landmarks. This unusual spot is rich in history and provides an exceptional view over the Mediterranean. Further down the coast, you will come to the creeks in the Reserve and Coco Beach. This is the ideal spot for a dive, a swim and a spot of sunbathing in peace and quiet.

The Coastal Path
Walk alongside the Cap de Nice and head for the coastal path! This seaside walk is still little known by tourists. It is one of the very best walks on the French Riviera. The walk lasts about 3 hours and 30 minutes and runs for 1.4 kilometres along a safe hiking path from Nice to Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Also known as the customs' officers path, it features some breathtaking views over the harbours of Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer. All along the way, you can enjoy an exceptional panorama over the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea with its rocky cliffs. Enjoy a picnic in one of the many natural creeks and make the most of the peaceful setting to have a swim and take it easy.
On the way back, you can take the train or bus to the Hotel Locarno Nice. If you are feeling energetic, you can also come back along the path on foot. We recommend setting out in the morning when the sun is not too high, wearing a good pair of trainers and taking enough water to drink all along the way.
