Nice Carnival 2026: Long Live the Queen!

From February 11 to March 1, 2026, experience the vibrant energy of the Nice Carnival with this year’s theme: "Long Live the Queen!". Inspired by marine mythology and underwater mysteries, this edition promises a spectacular dive into a fascinating world. Floats and parades will be decorated with oceanic colors, fantastic sea creatures, and magical aquatic elements.

Since 1873, the Nice Carnival has captured the hearts of locals and visitors from across the globe. This world-famous event attracts thousands of tourists every year, eager to discover the illuminated parades, the famous flower battles, and its unique festive atmosphere.

Event Highlights:

  • The Grand Charivari (Opening): Wednesday, Feb 11 at 4:00 PM at the Maison du Carnaval (Free entry).
  • Veglione Ball: Friday, Feb 13 at 7:00 PM at the Nice Opera.
  • La Carnavalina: Saturday, Feb 14 at 2:00 PM (Free entry).
  • Opening Illuminated Parade: Saturday, Feb 14 at 9:00 PM at Place Masséna.
  • Flower Battles: Wednesdays Feb 18 & 25, Saturdays Feb 21 & 28 at 2:30 PM.
  • Illuminated Carnival Parades (Night): Tuesdays Feb 17 & 24, Saturdays Feb 21 & 28 at 8:30 PM.
  • "Aqui" Carnival Parade (Day): Sunday, Feb 22 at 2:30 PM.
  • Lou Queernaval: Friday, Feb 27 at 8:00 PM.
  • Closing Ceremony & Burning of the King: Saturday, Feb 28 at 10:30 PM at Quai des États-Unis (Free entry).
  • Grand Carnival Swim: Sunday, March 1.

Good to know: Access is free for anyone in full costume (from head to toe) in the standing areas during the Carnival Parades!
